book-safe

You think it is only in the movies, but there are manufacturers that do offer hidden safes, such as a book safe for the home or office. No matter how James Bond-ish it feels, it is a really effective way to hide your important documents, jewelry, and large amounts of cash.

Thieves will have a hard time trying to locate your valuables. Using these safes may buy you enough time to go and get help in case an intruder does break into your home. Other ways to keep your home safe from break-ins include: investing in an alarm system, setting a timer for your lights, and considering getting a guard dog for larger estates. It is equally important to keep your safe combination between you and your spouse or another trusted member of the family.

Diversion safes

safe7up.jpg An inexpensive but effective way to hide your valuables is a diversion safe. These safes do not look like the typical steel lockbox safe. Instead, diversion safes are disguises like a hollowed-out book or soda can. Diversion safes look like containers designed to hide your valuables in plain sight.

Common diversion safes include fake brand name containers for soda pop, canned fruit, home cleaners, or even novels. Diversion safes have removable tops or bottoms so that you can put your goods in them, and the safes are weighed so that they appear normal when handled.

Diversion safes cost much less than normal safes. A soda pop diversion safe, for example, usually costs under $20. A faux wall socket to store money and jewelry costs around $10. A fake florescent light container, which can hold more belongings than most diversion safes, costs around $20. A popular and effective diversion safe is a fake stone to hide an extra home key in outside, usually costing around $10. Compare these prices to $50 for a small home safe. Unlike more expensive home safes, however, diversion safes are not fireproof.

Diversion safes are a great gift for college students living in the dorms or with nosey roommates. Many types of diversion safes are for sale on the Internet.

I Bet Nobody Will Look Here

can safeI needed a good place to hide my money. I had about $400 I was saving to go on a trip to Vegas with my friends and I didn’t trust a bank with it. Someone recommended I install a wall safe, but that was too much of a hassle for me. Another friend told me to bury the money in a secret location, but that also sounded like a bad idea. I have a bad memory and I can’t remember combinations or locations that easily.

I did a little internet research and I found an option I thought could work for me. It was a can safe. What looked to be a soda can had a hidden compartment that I could stow my money in. The amount of money I had fit perfectly into the can and I could even fit more in there if I wanted to. I would tell anyone who’s looking for a non-traditional place to hide their money to get a can safe.

Diversion Safes A Great Investment

ds-flowerpot.jpgDiversion Safes are sometimes called Hidden Safes, Can Safes, Decoy Safes and even Fake Safes.

Yes, Diversion Safes have many names but they all have the same purpose — to hide your valuables in plain sight from burglars, visitors or any other light-fingered person that might come into your house.

Research says a burglar spends 8-10 minutes on the average in a victim’s house so a burglar knows the best hiding places in a house to look for loot and he goes to the ‘normal’ places that it would be hidden.  A mattress or a loose brick in the wall or your sock drawer still are some favorite choices to hide valuables.

Well, you may say, what if I get a small home safe for all my valuables and bolt it to the floor?

First of all, have you priced a conventional safe lately?

Secondly, if you have all of your valuables in one place, and a thief gets into the safe, then there go all your treasures together.

In addition, a small home safe can cost over $100 or more and is heavy and cumbersome.  And burglars love real home safes.  Also, many models can easily be removed from your house.  Believe me, a determined burglar will stop at nothing once he has found a safe in your home.

How about an inexpensive alternative to a real safe?  It’s called a Diversion Safe.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Diversion Safes, let me tell you about these amazing gadgets.

Diversion Safes are unique home-security products that are designed to appear like a common household product, such as soda cans, hair spray, even paint cans.

Diversion Safes are some of the neatest gadgets ever made because they look exactly like the real McCoy.  They are real items that are hollowed out, weighted, and look and feel like the real product — they even have bar codes.

Most Diversion Safes cost less than $20

A Diversion Safe will do even a better job of hiding your valuables than a real safe because the burglar would never suspect that an Ajax Cleanser Can Safe would have a lot of cash in it!

Diversion Safes are portable and need no batteries or electrical outlets so they are great to take on vacation or trips.

scammed.jpgI am so sick of people trying to scam me.  I put a ring on Craig’s list this week and had a hit within 10 hours of it being posted.  I was so excited! Then when they wanted me to put the ring in the mail without verification of the funds being in a certain account I got suspicious.  They use or so they said they were using paypal.  When I contacted paypal they said it was not from them.  It happened again probably the same person only this time using MoneyGram.

People,  you really not only need the protection of pepperscammed.jpg spray, tasers and stun guns for those people that try to attack you physically.  You also need to be smarter than the average Joe out there.  Trust me these people I just described to you even professed they were Christians.  Wow, wouldn’t want to be them on judgement day!  Needles to say not only do you need Home Alarms you need Personal Alarms.  You know that still small voice you hear when it sounds too good to be true.  Listen to it!  Be Smart!  Be safe not just with your home, children and your very own you.  Equip yourself with the God given smarts and don’t get scammed.
